Limits to ODBC functionality compared to report?

We tried to create a report that have about 300 fields. Instead we found a limitition in the report writer and could only run the report after spliting the information into 3 different reports. This sounded like it would be an answer at the time but we’ve found that it won’t work for the users. The only other idea I have been able to come up with is creating the report in Word and using ODBC to fill the fields. What would the limitations be to that approach? Thank You

Why do you not call the second report from the first and so on? Set the UseReqForm property and call the report with the record(s) you want to use.

That is exactly what I did but the user wants to turn the report into one pdf file. It’s possible but the process isn’t very smooth. The user would also like add text to the report in a paragraph form. When it was just a line or two of course that was no problem but trying to line up the fields to be paragraphs isn’t working out.

Hi Mindi, How about exporting the information into Excel Sheet. Exporting information into Excel sheet is very easy , you can search in the forum you will find lot of examples.

Normally I think that would be a great approach but there is too much formatting that is needed on this report.
