License problem during server installation

When I am installing the Navision Server programme it is taking the demo license instead of the target folder specified in the customs set up. I tried this repeatedly but still the database information specifies the licensed size as that of 100000(Cronus) and not the size of the target folder. Also if the database has more companies it is not allowing to open at all giving the message that your license does not permit any more write transactions… I installed my license and specified this as the target folder during the installation but still it is giving this error. I think it is taking the demo license instead of my license…can anybody who faced this problem before suggest some ways… Thanks

I’ve had the same problem several times. In Version 2.60b it asks which license to use, but still uses the sample license. To fix this stop the Navision service, manually copy the correct license into the Navision Server Directory(replacing the other), then start the service. Simon

Thanks Simon, I tried it but it did not help. Is there any other way…It shows in the license information my license only but when I go to Database information the licensed size is 100000 Kb which is that of Cronus mine is 32 GB. And the amazing thing is that I have deleted all the cronus license files from the server!!!.. Thanks in advance Thanks in advance Rohith Kamath Senior Consultant The Naviworld Group

You need to rename your license to fin.flf in the server directory and then stop and start the server service before the change takes effect.

Rohith : Try this : 1/ Stop your financials service from the control panel 2/ Check with notepad that you’ve got the correct fin.flf file in your server directory 3/ from the command line type server uninstallasservice 4/ now type server installasservice 5/ restart the service from the control panel And now Navision must have picked your new licence. I hope this helps! tarek_demiati@ureach.com
