Killing planning tab

Hi to everybody,

I fed up with planning tab in item card. I spending days on this tab. Result is Nothing. I could not get anything.

What are the steps i need to take when my inventory goes down some particular number automatically Purchase order has to create?

Do i need to run requistion worksheet manually ? or does it run automatically when inventory goes down?

For example I want the Item “A” At least 50 in inventory. So how to step this in Item card?

So now i got sales order for 20. But my stock is 60 . when i creating a sales order for 20 automatically trigger has to fire because

my inventory has to goes down? How automatically POrder will create? In general how to fill Planning tab?

For manufacturing firm how to fill planning Tab? For trade company how to fill Planning tab ?

for manufacturing item how to fill planning tab? for trade item how to fill planning tab? I am entrading everybody who are working on

navision to provide solution.

Really this problem is killing me? I am requesting as many solutions and suggestions.

I will be Grate ful if any body solve this problem.

thanks in advance

There is no automatic firing.

You run the planning sheets to yor requirements to take into account all aspects, but in a timely manner to fulfill requirements, but then of course that is what your stock levels are for.

There is no definition of filling in the tab based upon the type of company, it is a characteristic of the item, how you handle it, this could be based upon stock turn, volume, price and a hundred other wierd and wonderful metrics individual businesses use.

So to get your item to have 50 in inventory:
Set the reordering policy to “Fixed Reorder Qty”
Set the reorder point to 50.

As simple as that, just two settings.

In your scenario when you run the planning worksheet it will tell you to purchase 10. All other setttings would be considered order modifiers depending upon the demand and supply mix.

Thank U Adam,

I created on item and done setup as u told and run “Planning work sheet” not requistion worksheet.

But It is showing error." Quantity must not be zero in requisition line workshhet template, Name= Planning."

What is solution to this?

Suppose My reorder point is 50. and i have total stosk is also 50

Now I am creating sales order 30. Now will any trigger will fire . If not then i will sale. Then what is the

use of reorder point .

How to get trigger when creating sales order when my stock goes down over reorder point.

Thanks and regards

Hi

I guess you have a filter on your spreadsheet or a blank line. You will need to delete it.

There is no auto-trigger, that is the point of the requisition worksheet, you control it. Otherwise you have the potential of ordering the same item 50 times on the same day from the same supplier, which is not how you want to work. The “trigger” is you running the worksheet, that is it. Companies run this daily or weekly depending upon the need, they then amalgamate orders to suppliers etc rather than sending them 100 purchase orders a week. The point of the reorder point is to have a stocking level, when the “projected” stock goes below this a planned replenishment will be suggested. You have a sales order for shipment in a month and this breaks the reorder level, then the system will suggest a purchase order to be received in a month when the need is seen, this prevents holding costs and not tying up capital unnescessarily etc.

I have it run each evening using the job scheduler. I copied and modified the standard report 699 Calculate plan to a new report, it sets the dates needed with code. this report runs each evening and ever morning the branches have a requistion worksheet filled with the latest info. they can modify if they want to make change, then they do the carry out action message routine to make the po’s here is out general guidelines on setting parameter, you need to set your own Reordering parameters All parameters are set on the SKU card, accessed from the item card à item button à Stockkeeping units, then select your branch and press the SKU button Tab – Replenishment Replenishment System – options are Purchase = Purchase from a vendor Prod. Order = Uses Navision Manufacturing to build item (we don’t use this) Transfer = Transfer from another Bayshore location Purchase Vendor No. = Primary vendor item is purchased from Vendor Item No. = Vendors number, can be different from BTEC # Lead time = How long you expect it to take from when you order to when it arrives, it uses this to determine timing of purchase orders (ok to leave blank) This is more important for manufacturing, system would try to time PO’s with production runs. Transfer Transfer-from code = location you would have this transferred from if you set the Replenishment system above to be Transfer Tab – Planning Reordering Policy Blank = do not reorder using the requisition system (use this if you don’t want to have this item called up in a requisition worksheets – same as do not restock in the old system. Maximum Qty. (to start this is what we will use) Safety Stock Quantity = equal minimum value of inventory you want on hand. Once it falls below this level it will be ordered. Maximum Inventory = amount you will order up to, once you fall below the Safety Stock. There are many different things that can be set, but most relate to manufacturing and production orders which we do not use.
