Job Manager Module / Work Order

We are using version 4.0. We have the Job Manager module, which as a whole, is much more than we need. Is there a way for sales folks to enter a “work order” of sorts, and then the accounting department to run a report on what has been input for a certain period of time (i.e. a month) to ensure that work performed is invoiced?

This appears that it may be easier, for our purposes, to do this through Sales Orders? Any thought? I want my accounting department to be able to run a report to see who we did work for in a months time. Not to actually bill from, but to know who we should be billing for a particular month. Any thoughts?

Why do you think Job manager is too difficult? If you need to create report you have to enter what time and materials was spent… I think Jobs provide for this in very easy way. Just ask you solution center optimize couple of screens for your data entry needs and you will be fine.

I’m not familiar with Job Manager, but it sounds like you can either use a Job and something like the report 10219 Job Cost Suggested Billing or enter a sales order and the report 10056 Outstanding Sales Order.
