Items to be disable for BOM

Hi,

i am using MS Dynamics AX 4.0 SP2, i want to disable some of the items for Bill of Materials (BOM) i.e. item No: A10001 (Bulb Red) no one can select this item in any BOM as BOMLine item, i am not able to delete this A10001 items because transactions are available.

How can i disable this item in BOM selections, please help me out

Not sure you can in 4, is there a stop option is default order settings (although pretty sure that does not exist in that version).
