How to transfer an item from one site to another site in dynamics ax 2009?

Hi Sharma,
Use the Transfer journal to move the goods (items) from one site to another site.
Inventory management > Journals > Item transactions > Transfer … click on create button and select the journal name and click on Lines button. It will open journals names form, create line here and select the item & site to which you want to move to another site. then Post it.

you are right but “To inventory dimensions” is disabled in journal lines.

What ever dimensions are there for the FROM Inventory dimensions … those will come automatically in the TO Inventory dimensions. may be item is not having those Inventory dimensions and because of that your not getting.
What dimensions are not coming ? what dimensions you have in From ???
Hi BK, the Transfer journal is the simplest to use as Sarathy says, in the images below you can see details, the only dimensions you will be allowed to change are the ones in the To stock dimensions**, dimensions available are the ones that are available for the item. At the same moment you post the journal, the stock is available in the other site.**
Other way is to use Transfer orders**. You need to configure a transit warehouse, and attach it to the warehouses you are doing transfers in order to use Transfer orders functionality (Inventory management\Periodic\Transfer orders). T**his is useful when you have long transit between warehouses or sites because you can post the send of the merchandises for the FROM warehouse, they will remain in the transit warehouse (will not be available in none of the warehouses) until they are physically received in the TO warehouse, where you will need to post the reception for item availability, in this way you can have users responsible for both steps of the transfer. Once you post the reception the system will automatically move the items from the transit warehouse to the final one.

Transfer orders
From warehouse → (system put the items into transit warehouse when send; and out of the transit warehouse when received) → To warehouse

Need your help regarding the similar issue.
For one of our client, we are using Transfer Order to transfer Inventory from one warehouse to other warehouese.
and these warehouses belong to different sites. i.e. Site1 (Warehouse1) to Site 2 (Warehouse2)
While posting the Transfer Receipt system is asking for Financial Dimension update(Since on account we have specified Dimensions mandatory)
The Issue is, on Transfer Order these is no Tab where we can fill the Financial Dimension Values.
Please suggest any SOlution.
Does the client is located in india ? If yes , we have the option .
