Item purchased in kg and consumed in parts - AX 2012 R2

I have a scenario, where my client is purchasing the steel sheet in kg and cutting it as required by production in different size, which is in pcs.

how can i go abt it.

Are the peices dimension fixed (say 1 pcs = 0.5 Kg)? If so, you can use Unit of Measure conversion. You can define relation between Kg and Pcs. The purchasing unit can be Kg where the sales or inventory unit can be Pcs.

No they are not fixed…

With production module, to obtain 1 Pcs of X wide and Y high you need Z Kg of the steel sheet.
