Hi,
There is no template in navision for Invoices?
What is your exact requirement, it may be mapped with some other standard NAV process.
Please explain.
Hi Carl,
As Saurav says, then there are no specific “invoice templates” in Navision. Templates exists for creating customers, vendors etc. But not for invoices.
Instead there is something called “standard sales codes” - this allows you to define a “standard” set of items and quantities to be applied to a customer and used to be inserted on their sales invoices. Plus you can set an expiration on the template and specific prices.
But that may not be what you’re looking for. The word “invoice template” may mean something different for you. If you by “template” means the actual design of the “printed” invoice, then that’s also possible - but not unless you use Navision 2016. (You should always write the version in your questions - the different versions may be quite different).
Here you first have to create a new template of the invoice layout, where you apply the changes to. This is done either in Visual Studio or Word. Not something which is normally done by a user, but a Navision partner. But when the new layout is created, then you can apply it to the clients in question. You define this under the customer’s Document Layouts.
Hi, thanks for the reply and post. The version I have is 5.5 and What I need to do is set BANK details on the invoice for customers depending on the currency used.
I am going to research the stand sales codes so I can better understand these…
Hi Carl,
Version 5.5? There was never such a version, could it be 5.1?
So what you want is that the invoice when printed will display different payment information (you bank account etc.) on the invoice?
That is not really what I would consider “templating” but basic business logics that could/should be solved in the actual report object. You should contact your NAV developer about this.
