Can a ‘standard’ cost be set for an item that is not a physical item, but is a subscription / intangible item? Each sale triggers specific associated costs. Want to track those but not sure the correct way to set up and set that relationship between a sale and its triggered costs. thanks.
Could you create your item as a Product type of “Service”?

Thank you, Paul. Yes, I’ve created one in a test environment with product type service. What I don’t know how to do is to set the cost side of things such that when we make a sale of one of those service products, we know what associated costs that triggers.
Is it possible to setup a direct delivery for the service item? I’m not sure if you are paying a fictitious vendor or a real one.
I would like to know what you figure out. I think a lot of companies simply add the misc charge (freight, handling fees, etc…) to the sales order, but never tie the cost back directly to the customer.
