Installing Reporting Tools for Dynamics AX 2009

Hi All

I have a local AOS and client on my machine, and I have installed all of the required software including Visual Studio 2008.

I want to install Reporting Tools so I can create Dynamics AX 2009 report in Visual Studio, but when I install this component the installation cancels after a few seconds and the error log is completely hopeless, all it gives me which is readable is “MSI (s) (94:E8) [10:55:14:373]: Product: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Components (64 bit) – Configuration failed.”

Does anyone have a clue as to why this would not install, as I said all required software is installed already?

Hi,

I am not sure about your problem and how to fix it but when I installed some reporting features for my local AX2012 application, I got a similar error message that was related to the 32-bit office system (Excel, Word, etc.) that was setup and caused the problem.

That is odd, I don’t think it is related to my issue, everything on my machine is 64bit [:S]

Did you resolve this? I am having the same problem. Now I’m wondering if Reporting Tools for Dynamics AX 2009 are supported with a 64 bit OS.
