In business central how to get an item historical sales and purchase price in foreign or original currency

In business central is there option to see item historical prices in foreign currency or original currency ? Thanks in advance.

Hi there

Are you familiar with the Sales and Purchase Price Tables on an Item card?
You can add price breaks, customer and vendor info, start and ending dates and currency for historical reasons if desired.

Yes. In the item ledger entries list view I can see unit value in LCY, I require in FCY. Is there an option. I’m new to BC.

I’m looking for historical actual sale and purchase value of an item in foreign currency. We do not update the cost or sale information in item card. We straight show value in SO and PO level and gets posted.

If you are looking for all this information in a common currency, you might look into setting up the Additional Currency. I’m not sure what’s involved in setting this up in an active DB. Perhaps others could help here.

if you are looking for this information in the currency of each specific transaction, then pull that info from to posted documents. A bit more of a challenge.

Yes, in Business Central, you can view the item historical prices in foreign currency or original currency.

To view the historical prices of an item in foreign currency or original currency, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Items List page.
  2. Select the item for which you want to see the historical prices.
  3. Click on “Navigate” and select “Item Prices.”
  4. On the Item Prices page, you can view the historical prices of the item in the “Currency Code” column. If the historical prices are in foreign currency, you can view them in the “Foreign Currency Amount” column. If the historical prices are in the original currency, you can view them in the “Amount” column.

You can also customize the columns to view the historical prices of an item in a specific currency.
