I would like to upload salary payment transactions directly into Navision Financials (from Huldt&Lillevik). I have newer used the dataports, and have not been able to find any informations in the manuals. Could somebody help me out with a short overview of the process and the basic pitchen holes to watch out for
Hello, It sounds like you need to speak to your Navision Solution Centre, as you sound like you know what you need, but are not sure how do get there. Your NSC should be able to give you some training or possibly design a solution for you. The Navision manuals are very poor on the subject of dataports. Indeed the Application Designer’s Guide only mentions them in passing. I would suggest that the best idea, which we have done in the past, would be to have a dataport written that brings the information into the Gen. Journal Line table for checking by the user before being posted like a normal journal. Designing dataports is very much like the report design tool, so I would recomend that you take a look at this first.
