When I create a purchase order it showing illegal reference.

At what exact point your are getting this error? By clicking on new line or selecting a field value in new line?
Don’t forget to tag your AX version.
its ax 2009, when i try to save purchase lines.
Were you able to create other transactions? Like sales order lines, movement journal lines etc…?
When I tried to create a sales order its not allowing me to create a new order and also i cant change the sales order id.
It could be an issue with the number sequences.
Check the number sequences. (Sales Id, InventTransId etc…)
