I’m using navision 4 sp 1 in vista
because we have 2 databases, 1 using navision 4 sp 1 and another one is using 4 sp 3
I installed navision 4 SP 1, and from navision 4 sp 3 i didn’t install it
I Just copied folder client to “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision”, and i renamed it…
it could work, if we used windows xp…
but if in vista, it couldn’t…
Error message if we execute finsql.exe
→ there are errors in text conversion (text no. 46-100 does not exist in the .stx file).
Internal error : 47 -1
the other error message after that
–>Runtime error C:\Program Files\Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision\Client\finsql.exe

I tried to apply Update 3 as this was the most up to date at the time but later I saw this had some serious issues with locking. I think I then applied update 6.
You could always use a 5.0 client with the old database as this will definitely work on Vista.
I never said it doesn’t work, I said it’s not supported :). When you have an issue, you call MS support, they find out you are on 4.0 SP1, first thing they will tell you is to upgrade to SP3 plus the platform update, and then call back if you still have the problem.
