I used the Cash Flow Forecasting in NAV/BC and that’s somehow fine, but sometimes it’s inaccurate or the report is not fully clear specially when you show to the Business managers.
I am looking for some guides to How to effectively manage the Cash Flow Forecasting by using NAV/Business Central.
in the past I used sheets and this is great but normally need more manual works, I need to utilize NAV/BC very well.
Difficult to say what is wrong in your setup or what you are doing wrong, without seeing it. And are you doing this in a production or demo environment?
I assume you’ve already checked out this video, if not then let me suggest it to you to start with:
I’ve never setup the cash flow module myself, but I were to do it, then I would start by following the examples in the video and at docs.microsoft.com. Slowing work my way through it, making sure it was correct according to the test data I was adding. Then when that worked and I was sure it does it correctly, then I would start setting up my customer (also in a test copy).
I am not sure on how your “paid to vendors in advance” is done? What is the document type of the Vendor ledger Entry? But I would believe that you cannot “ignore” those pays without development. Or you have to filter and delete the lines in the journal before you register it.
OK, I am deleting before registering; but once I recalculate the Chart on the role center every deleted entry comes back.
The payment is done to the vendor from payment journal as they request and Advance payment before starting the production (Video production), we did not receive any invoice yet. I see NAV/BC determining that as Receivables for some reasons or some mistakes I did.
And yes, the purpose of the cash flow forecast is that everything comes back as how the cash flow is supposed to look like when you recalculate the lines…So it kinda works as intended from microsoft.
You can say that if you just register it as a payment then it is cash going out that is nok linked to an purchase order or Purchase invoice.
The only thing that can change it is using the standard pre-payment functionality.
