Inventory management ->Inquiries ->Tracing->Item Tracing
Click on Trace after all criteria selection (Item, batch number …).
The documentation explain on what data it shows.

Does the item have any transactions for the serial number ABC?

No transaction for the serial number “ABC” in serial number form(Inventory management ->Inquiries ->Dimensions → Serial numbers).
Choose an item that has the transactions. If you don’t have the transactions then what do you expect to see and trace?

I taken transaction item it show some details in details tab of the tracing form but it trace non ABC serial numbers details,i don’t know what basics it trace.Can you tell me.
What does that mean? You should be reading that documentation for better understanding.
Raise a purchase order for the item, receive it, then consume it in production and sell the finished item. Then use the trace function.

I tried, I am getting list of trace details but tracking dimension is serial number. I specified “ABC” as serial number for the item but after tracing it shows the ABC serial numbers details and other serial number details.How it trace other serial number.
Please add a screen shot of your inventory transactions for the item with serial number dimension ABC and the results of the trace screen.

I taken batch number as tracking dimension instead of serial number “ABC”,below are screenshots for inventory transaction and trace details.I have a batch number as “140122-000002” in tracking dimension but while tracing i am getting details of “140121-000001” batch number, can you tell me how it trace different batch number details.
That is the actual production order(source of the transaction), where the 140121-000001 is consumed (production line).

The below is what i meant,
The transaction with batch number 140122-000002 is related to the actual production order. In this production order the item with batch number 140121-000001 has been consumed. The tracing is also giving you the information for what purpose the batch number has been used and has been made by using that.
