“Gen. Prod. Posting Group must have a value in Item Journal Line: Journal Template Name=, Journal Batch Name=, Line No.=0. It cannot be zero or empty.”
I tried posting an assembly order when I got this error. I’ve tried all I could by double checking all the posting groups and posting setups. I must be missing something cause I’ve been stuck on this the past 2 hours. I want to post here as a last resort for someone who can direct me to the right the place.
Check all of your components have a Gen. Prod. Posting Group defined on their Item Card. Also check the Finished Good being produced, as it should be on all Items.
If you find an Item without a value defined, you’ll likely need to re-enter that line on the Assembly Order for it to pick up the change.

Within the General Posting Setup create additional lines without the Gen. Bus. Posting Groups and this will resolve this issue. Let me know if you have any other questions.
