HELP - Installing Navision -

Hi, I have installed navision database and application server 3.10a on windows 2000 standalone server. The problem I’ve had since the begining is that I could not use windows authentication on the server. I created/ defined the user in the tools>security>windows login menu but when I try to use windows authentication, it says "windows authentication is not supported on this server. After rebooting the server, I also start seeing “Navision was unable to initialize …” error in the Event logs. I have uninstalled and reinstalled attain client/ Database server and application server many times but no luck. I also get the following two warnings in the event log: The operating system returned the error (121): The semaphore timeout period has expired. And: The system failed to update Navision Server Service Connection Point in Active Directory. The registry entry does not exist. Any suggestions ??? Thanks in advance. Jamal

I think i replied to you in another forum also, but to your 2nd point: You must run “SchemaXT.exe” file once after installating Navision Server. Did u do that?If not, do it and try again. Regards

I ran that utility and got this familiar error: BTW: is anyone else out there using this on Dell 1650 server? I have a navision application /database server running in my netowrk on a old IBM server with dual chip running Windows 2000 advanced. Windows auhtentication works fine on that. The server is too old and slow and I’ve been trying to setup a new one but no luck so far. “The system failed to retrieve the global catalog from Active Directory. Thsi may be caused by network problems, o rit may be caused by lack of Active Directory functionanilty on your machine or the network. Active Directory functionality is not available. Contact your system manager or our vendor for support.”

I also get a No. Series Code ‘CP-S-QUO-1’ does not exist. error every time I try click on continue button in commerce portal shopping cart. Any insights?? Jamal
