GP 2016 R2, SQL Server 2017

Has anyone successfully run GP 2016 R2 on SQL Server 2017? Is this technically possible but just unsupported by Microsoft? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, and I’m happy to hear that someone has had success with a newer SQL Server instance. I’m going to share this with my client and see if they would like to discuss it further.
