Good quantity on route card journal

Hi,

Just wonder on the route card journal, there are two columns “Good quantity” and “Error quantity”. Do these two only report information or have impact when posting physically and financially?

Value in these fields will impact the physical and financial postings. Suppose if your production order is for 10 quantity, in the route card journal if you are recording 6 as good quantity and 4 as error quantity, then your inventory for the finished good will be increased with the 6 quantity only.

The production order will still remain open as 4 quantity is reported as error quantity.

Then in your example, if I specify good quantity to 10 again when RAF, would this overwrite what I specified in the route card journal?

The reply is not quite true. The impact of the quantity will only matter if you have a cost category of quantity impacting on the cost calculation.

In addition the last operation states how many you have made, and should correlate to your RAF journal that then impacts on the finished good inventory.
