You may be interested in ‘Update 1’ for Navision 4.0 which is a list of C/SIDE hotfixes for specific problems. To obtain the update you need to contact a Navision Support Representative for your country, quoting KB890551 and your specific problem. Related link for 3.70: http://www.mbsonline.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12967. Related link for c/side versions: http://www.mbsonline.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8787 Briefly, the fixes are: 1. MESSAGE() can keep transactions open when used before CodeUnit.RUN by displaying the message box immediately, and therefore can degrade concurrency. 2. MODIFY(TRUE) if called from OnValidate() calls the OnModify() trigger with xRec and Rec being equal on Navision Server (is OK on SQL). Example is that Change Log does not log all field changes. 3. Power Management Standby/Hybernation crashes Navision when resuming power. 4. Non-editable subforms allow records to be deleted. 5. Characters having unsymetrical UPPER/LOWER case are not handled correctly in Code fields, causing ‘Table contains a value in a Code field that cannot be used with Navision’ error. Example is the Greek ‘ó’ and (‘ò’) characters both having an UPPER of ‘Ó’. 6. Codeunit editor does not receive focus immediately when opened. 7. Internal error 4 in module 34. 8. Internal error 8 in module 34. 9. Crash (Windows Error Report offset 0004184e) after any kind of server disconnection instead of disconnection error message. 10. Matrix/Table Boxes, when invisible, still show scroll bars. 11. C/FRONT FieldNo() function compares against field caption instead of field name. 12. NAS ignores report/permissions properties. 13. Field Drawing problem in maximized window opened from the Navigation Pane. 14. Navision Database Server Denial of Service using TCPS. 15. No checking for at least one user with SUPER rights against either a Windows Login or Database Login, giving no SUPER access to the database. 16. Eastern European characters not displaying correctly in the Navigation Pane buttons. 17. Empty status bar information when highlighting Navigation Pane items. 18. Cannot start NAS for SQL using the MMC Snap-in: incorrectly sets the network protocol to TCPS 19. Navision Database Server shutdown after setting up any kind of Navision security roles. 20. Navision Database Server shutdown when running more than one server an the same machine.
Thank you, Robert. This information is quite welcomed.
Thanx for the information, this was useful!
Our NSC ist not able to provide us with this ‘Update 1’ for Navision 4.0. Does anybody already have this Update and could send it to me[?]
realy nobody?[V]
I don’t seem to be able to find it in the US Partner Source either
Then I suggest you or your NSC contact Microsoft support directly to find out where the Update is available, specifying the issue you wish to solve with the update. It has been out for some time now.

Thanks for the info. However, I did try to find KB890551 but didn’t have any luck. Has that article been removed, or should it be another number? Thanks, Steve
Hi Steve, try this https://mbs.microsoft.com/knowledgebase/KBDisplay.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;890551. I have detected some disarrangement in the KB, especially the KB articles listed in the file “hotfix.txt”, which should list all changes made in the hotfix in the knowlwedge base and i can find only half of them in the KB. I have send a message to MBS/Microsoft and they are working on it. br Josef Metz
Thanks for the info. It won’t let me in, though, b/c I apparently need a CustomerSource account to get to that info. I will ask around here and see if I can get ahold of that information.
