In new company I have created the Fiscal calendar 2012- 13 , under this I am going to create the Fiscal year , when I click create new it is taking automatically 2013- 14 .
But it has to take 2012-13 ,why it is taking automatically 2013 – 14 as Fiscal year.

What are the fiscal years that has been created in your system.
AX puts some restriction in fiscal year creation. For example in your initial configuration if you have created fiscal year from 1 Jan 2012 to 31 Dec 2012, the you can’t create any year prior to 2012.
Also, the next fiscal year will always start from 1 Jan 2013.

Go to General Ledger > Set up > Ledger.
Select the Fiscal Calender in the Ledger feild that u hav created and want to set for in your legal entity (2012-13). I hope now this will take the 2012-13 fiscal calender.

I have created new company and i have created first fiscal calender like 2012-2013 . Under this fiscal calender i want to create the fiscal year 2012 -2013.
But when i click on the new fiscal year system automaticaly taking as 2013-2014 .
Please guide me the problem.
Fiscal year is a shared table. Hence new company will not serve the purpose.
Either delete the existing fiscal years in the company and create fiscal years from start or create a new calender and attach it to the ledger setup.
If you are checking in new company, create a new calender and attach that calender in ledger setup.

If you have created new calendar, then create new fiscal years in the new calendar and attach the newly created calendar in ledger setup.

What date did you entered on the Start of fiscal year? There itself we define the start of fiscal calendar years.
Fiscal calendar and year are pretty simple stuffs. If you are facing lot of issues then i will suggest you to go through the manuals of Financial management.

Create Fiscal Calendar as “FC” and not “2012-13”. Then create a yr “2012-13” inside this calendar and so on.
You can have multiple calendar’s in AX-2012 to be used for either GL and Budget.

When you create new fiscal calendar, there itself we define the start of fiscal year. In the figure below, fiscal year is starting from 01/01/2011. I can’t create fiscal year prior to 2011.

Yes. First fiscal year is created automatically. If you look closely on the picture above, basically we enter the data of first fiscal year in the calendar itself. Once the fiscal year is created for 2011, automatically system will take next year start date as 01/01/2012 and you won’t be able to create any year prior to 2011.

If both are same , then why it has two options like New Fiscal calender and New fiscal year. ?
