Field Reference Must be filled In Issue while creating External Code for dimension

Hi,

I am working on ax 2012 R3

I have done below

Organization Administration -->Organization–>Operating Units–>New(Department)–>Created New one .

GL–>Chart Of accounts -->Dimensions–> select(Department)–>Financial Dimension values–>Selected Created one.

When I add the new external code value and save I am getting below

"Field Reference must be filled In".

The reason is the reference records is missing in the Table “DimensionAttributeValue”.

Can anybody let me know in which case it will insert the record in the “DimensionAttributeValue” table or am I Missing anything while creating above.
