I have strange problem while running the setup.exe file of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 RTM. I’m trying to run the setup to install one of the component. all the required components like DB,AOS…etc are already installed and the environment is running perfectly fine.
The problem occurs when I click in setup.exe file. I get the following error message every time when run the .exe file.
Exception:Microsoft.WindowsInstaller.InstallerExceotion Message:(Some text in Chinees language) DataBase=“C:Windows\Installer\ce5957.msi”
FullText:MicrosoftWindosInstaller.InstallerException:(Some text in Chinees language) DataBase=“C:Windows\Installer\ce5957.msi” at.microsoft.windowsInstaller.Database.OpenDatabase(String filePath, DataBaseOPenMode mode) at.microsoft.windowsInstaller.Database.ctor(String filePath, DataBaseOPenMode mode) at.microsoft.windowsInstaller.Database.OpenDatabase(String filePath, DataBaseOPenMode mode) at microsoft.Dynamics.setup.msi.GetValue(String MsiPathAndFile string value) at microsoft.Dynamics.setup.msiBase.initialize() at microsoft.Dynamics.setup.msiSetupSupport.get_instance() at microsoft.Dynamics.setup.Driver.Main(String[] args)
Please note that the msi file (ce5957.msi) what it is complaining about is nor available in C:Windows\Installer folder or in the Dynamics AX setup package folder.
Tried with many options - running the .exe as Administrator, restating the server, placing the setup in different locaiotns and run the .exe but no luck.
The same setup is working fine on different machine, I feel it is something to do with the OS (May be) I’m not sure though, but it is getting difficult to find out the root cause. Can any one have any idea on what could be reason for this? or any pointers on how to solve this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.
After the server reboot, we now see that .exe file is crashing every time and following is error code. Any clue on this?

Hello, it says “2016-04-11 12:47:05Z Additional information can be found in the AxSetup log file ‘DynamicsSetupLog.txt’”, please find out this TXT file, it should provide you something to trace after.
I’m trying to install “Web service on IIS” component, problem occurs well before, I can run the setup.exe, I can see the Welcome screen from, when I click on “Microsoft Dynamics AX components” under “Install” I see the app crash message.
I have provided the log files above, and the same can be seen in the event log as well. can you help me with this problem? we really need the installation to be working.
I’m sorry, but if you can’t find any more information then the return code (-532459699), I can’t do anything either. Ensure that you met all prerequisites for installing Web services and if you do, you’ll have to turn to Microsoft.
