Error When Upgrading to Vista Using KB931841

Hi Forum, my client wants to use vers 4 SP3 on Vista. I have obtained KB931841 but I get an error when executing the platform rollup. The error reads…

“The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch”.

I am running native Nav as per the client and have tried running the platform rollup from outside the Nav client folder and from within the Nav client folder. Has anyone else encountered this problem. Thanks Paul

Personally I do not roll up patches for NAV.

The way I do it is tho build the lastest version on a seperate machine, then use that latest version to rebuild the installer. I then uninstall the old version from the users computer, and then use the new installer to install a new version. That way I am certain that every machine is the same.
