DynamicsCon Feedback

Hello,
My company is considering sending some of our end users of D365 F&O to the DynamicsCon conference. Since we have not attended the conference before, I am asking for some feedback. Is this the best conference to send end users? Any information/guidance is greatly appreciated.

Hi Renee. I have been attending conferences since 2010 and LIVE and In-person events are invaluable. DUG is hosting local events called Meet-ups on a regular basis all around the country. Check out the areas and see if you are close. This is a great way to get acclimated with the group. Meetup - Dynamics User Group

The national event, DynCon, is growing fast and will be very valuable for send a few folks to cover all ofthe available education and networking. Not only do you get formal education session, if you are proactive, you can get answers to all kinds of issues/questions from experts in the community including Microsoft.

Feel free to reach out to me directly if you would like more information. bobby@dynamicsusergroup.com

Hi Renee,

Absolut is the best conference that you can attend. You can network with many users and vendors.

You can search all the conferences agenda per day on the website.

Have a nice afternoon.

Renee,

DUG is a great event, I can’t speak directly to F&O content as it’s not a product I work with, but I know there are a lot of ISV’s and training specific to F&O.

It is smaller than the Big Microsoft Summit, but sometimes that allows a lot more interaction and better exposure to what you’re trying to help them achieve.

Overall, it’s one of my favorite conferences.

Hi Renee,

I love DynamicsCon Live. It gets better every year. The content is solid and the networking is the best I have found. I hope to see you in Chicago in May!

I don’t see a lot of endusers there. Mostly IT. I think that is who it is aimed at.

My experience is that both Summit and DynamicsCon (Dynamics User Group) are great events. Summit is bigger, has been around longer and offers more Educational slots. DUG is newer, faster growing and more intimate. I’d say Summit is still a little better for education - more breakouts, more choice - and DUG is a little better for networking - more people in the same room each session. My sense is that Microsoft shows more presence at DUG. Ask yourself which is better for your end users!

I think so. I’ve been to BC conferences in the past, and absolutely loved them, as an end user and a parter. Lots of information sharing, lots of learning, lots of great speakers.

Hi Kyle. Thanks for commenting. Typically we get an equal amount of users (Functional and Technical) at events for the regional and national level. Sometimes the local event can vary one way or another. I would love to hear more about your experiences at the events as I am hear to build the community and learn from folks like you!

Nice synopsis @Nigel_Cox2! I think that it is awesome for the entire user base, partners, ISVs, users have quality events to attend. Also… sometimes having fewer options is not a bad thing, if they cover a range of topics and are accessible for each attendee to participate! Love seeing you in here and looking forward to catching up soon!

It’s is a great conference. I’m an End User and IT. I go prepared with topics I’d like to discuss, and vendors I’d like to explore. I find community members to share and learn. Your team will learn for sure. They need to be active. Hopefully they “want” to attend. If so, I’m sure they will 100% grow and network. I always bring back information for the rest of my team and End Users across the organization.

@Renee_Brown ,
I attended the DCI Summit in San Antonio last fall after a 5-year absence of in-person events (mostly due to COVID). I have been attending large Microsoft and GPUG events since 2007, but was very disappointed with the 2024 Summit. The spirit of GPUG was long gone (I last attended in Orlando in 2019, when DCI announced that it was being acquired by a private equity firm). Orlando was my last major Summit event, and many attendees felt it was the beginning of the end for GPUG. Time has proven us right, and the spirit of GPUG Summit is no longer there.
However, most of the team that was running GPUG Summit at DCI is now active with DUG, and it is definitely evident in the engagement and events that are being put together, both virtually and in person. DUG’s growth numbers are there to prove it. Chicago DynamicsCon will be my first in-person attendance since the last (true) GPUG Summit in Orlando, and I’m looking forward to reuniting with the people who make this event a success. The event is targeted as well for end-user as professionals and my experience is that there is a 40/60 spread between what I call “IT” users (not application users) and real end-users who are using the products on a daily basis. You won’t be disappointed when attending an event like DynamicsCon IMHO.
As others have replied, go there prepared with topics and questions you want like to discuss with ISV’s and partners, as well as other fellow community users. Many times, chances are that someone else already ran into the problems you’re facing.
