Dynamics Rainer is existing version of AX 2012 R3 except cloud?

Hi,

Microsoft dynamics Rainer would be released early next year. May i know is it existing version of AX 2012 R3 except cloud or some other features also will be include? Rainer is fully web based?

we are planning to upgrade from AX 2009 to AX2012 R3. but after came to know that Rainer would be release next year. we plan to hold the upgrade process… AX2012 r3 and rainer both are same except cloud?

Please clarify… Thanks in advance

I’m not aware of any official announcement by Microsoft, although they might have made some on the Convergence. (I’m on the MVP Summit, not on Convergence.)

Nevertheless based on what I’ve heard from Microsoft, I wouldn’t wait with the upgrade. The upgrade from R3 to Rainier should be really smooth and you would just postpone the more difficult problem - the upgrade from AX 2009 to AX 2012. Postponing won’t solve the problem; you should rather start addressing it.

Also it’s not clear when Rainier will be released; it may take longer time than expected in the moment.

And yes, the client will be based on web technologies.

Thanks for you clear reply martin
