I have a prospect that wants Dynamics 365 for Operations (AX7) but wants to purchase the licenses and pay for the cloud add on. Does anyone know of a way of perhaps purchasing AX2012 licenses then the cloud add on and running the AX7, D365 version please? The lack of an on premise or license purchase model is a hindrance.

You cannot purchase AX2012 with a “cloud add on” whatever that may contain, you are now really down a D365FO route with cloud capability or AX2012.
