Document status of the sales order does not change when the sales order is confirmed

Hi all, i dont know if it’s a bug or no but when i create a sales order and confirmed it, the document status is changed to confirmed which is fine. However, when i make a change to the sales order ( quanty; date; etc), the status of the document remains confirmed which is not correct. how can i make it change? is it standard ? The thing is , for the purchase order this is working very well. the system automatically changed to approved after a change has been done on a confirmed PO. Any help is appreciated

I think this is standard functionality. If there are any confirmation postings the Document status of a Sales order will be ‘Confirmation’ no matter if you make changes, or not all lines are confirmed. Even if the Sales order Status is changed to ‘Canceled’ the Document status remain as ‘Confirmation’.

In case of Purchase order there is additional status field for change management (PO workflow) called Approval status. Changes on PO might require approval workflow to be triggered to formally authorize the changes. If this process control (change management) is not used the default Approval status is ‘Approved’. After approval PO confirmation can be posted which updates Approval status as 'Confirmed.

No matter if change management is used or not, PO Document status is ‘Purchase order’ after the first confirmation has been posted and it also wont reset after changes on PO, just like in case of Sales order Document status.
