We are trying to setup Document Management in AX so that our users can attach any documents like PDFs, Images, etc to Sales Orders, Purch Orders, etc.
Our users will be accessing AX from Rich Clients installed on their machines. The requirement is, documents attached in AX should be accessible to all the users irrespective of the machine they are accessing it from. One of my colleagues suggested me to share the directory on server to everyone, but, I am worried that any one could open the shared directory and access files which do not belong to their Department, etc.
Any pointers on how we can setup Document Management?
I had heard that AX has a File Server which can be configured for handling Documents, etc. Can anyone throw light on that too?
