Dimension groups Allow Entry options

Hi guys…

In the inventory dimensions form, there is this tab Editing, wherein you can tick in which transaction the dimension should appear for entry. if the dimension is set to mandatory, then what is the use of unticking the Editing tab ? Can you site an example when/where this is useful ?

I would think that you would not untick this setting in any case where you are using a Mandatory dimension.

You might use this option, for example, to prevent a dimension like location or batch from being specified at the time of Purchase Order entry. You would still need to specify these dimensions at the time of registration. These would not be Mandatory dimensions though.

Thanks. I was just thinking if it indeed works that way, it should function just the way that you cannot tick Blank Issue/Receipts Allowed if it is Mandatory.
