I am working on Navision 4.0, the problem i am facing is that, I want the decimal values for an entire company to be displayed in this format 12,34,56,789.00 i tried the language and regional settings but it doesn’t work it displays in the same western format like 123,456,789.00 even after being changed to this format 12,34,56,789.00… plz help
I’m not sure you can do that…easily. By that I mean you would have to change every field in the system.
I’m curious…what is the business reason for a change like that?
its just that its an Indian company and they want the fields to be in the Indian format like 12,34,56,789.00 as mentioned earlier… They don’t want it to be represented in terms of millions n billions… thats the main reason…
Its OK if it is possible to do that on field level in a particular table… If you do have a solution plz do let me know…
It is not possible unless some regional settings assumes such format.
It is even called ‘thousands separator’, so you may change the symbol itself to whatever you want, but grouping always will be by 3 digits.
ya thats rite… Regional setting has to be done and I have done the same as required but its not working so i just wanted to know if there is some other way to solve the problem…
The regional settings don’t seem to work for Navision…
The regional settings does work with the Indian currency format. I know because we had it working in my previous job when I worked with our Indian subsidiary. And I also know that I have seen another post here on the user group specifying how to do it. I just cannot find it right now. If it wasn’t working then I’m sure Microsoft would hear very loud outburst from their many Indian customers.
I have searched the site but couldn’t fine any appropriate post relating to this… if u do find the particular post plz let me know…
