DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FREE AND FIXED IN CHECK NO METHOD(CHECK LAYOUT CREATION)

Hai All.

I got a confused about these two free and fixed in Cheque Layout Creation. System Allows Only Fixed. What is the main function of FREE AND FIXED Cheque No Methods.

Thanks In Advance

Initially you upload the check numbers against the bank. By using the function> Create checks in Bank accounts form.

When you are trying to generate the checks from the system.

If the check method is Fixed: then the check numbers will be automatically picked by the system in sequence.

Ex: you already used CHQ1101, CHQ1102 then system uses the next check number CHQ1103

If the check method is free: you can select the check number which is being issued to the vendor.

Ex: Ex: you already used CHQ1101, CHQ1102 then system doesn’t use the new check with number CHQ1103, user needs to explicitly mention which check number to be used. This may be useful when organization would like to keep some checks and issue the CHQ1106.(just example)

Thanks Santosh

To be more precise,

If the check method is Fixed: Total five checks generated in AX From CHQ1101 to CHQ1105. then the check numbers will be automatically picked by the system in sequence.

Ex: you already used CHQ1101, CHQ1102 then system uses the next check number CHQ1103… Two checks are renaming in AX as created.

If the check method changed to “Free” from “Fixed”: you can manually type the check number which is being issued to the vendor / Customer (Repayment through check). The remaining two checks to deleted from system From CHQ1104 to CHQ1105 since it changed to Free method. Otherwise if the user try to use the number CHQ1104. system throw a error message “Check CHQ1104 already exist, Job has been cancelled”

Ex: you already used CHQ1101, CHQ1102 then system doesn’t use the new check with number CHQ1103 unless until check no. generated essential to be deleted, then user need to explicitly mention which check number to be used. This may be useful when organization would like to keep some checks and issue the CHQ1106.

Thanks.
