Hi ,

Iam trying to install developer tool kit for navision 4 Demo database to learn first about DTK

  1. First i went to explore CD of navision 4

  2. then choose DEVKit

  3. and Run Setup .

Mesage given installed done .

BUT I cannot find DEVtool.exe after installation …why ??? do iam doing something wrong ? or is there any missing case in my procedure ???

Please help …

Are you sure that you didn’t install the SDK instead?

Normally the developer toolkit is not part of the product cd, only the SDK.

Hi,

As Erik pointed out you have installed SDK nad not NDT (Navision Developers Toolkit).

By installing DevKit, you have installed C/FRONT and Communication components. By default installation path is :

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision\SDK

If the intension was to install NDT, then you need to have it separately than CD. You can download it from partnersource, search for NDT.

but i am still have this mesaage during import files " YOu must define a calcformula for the subtype name Flow field in the variable table . …

I have looked at the variable table for subtype name it’s and found the folowings …

/ Flowfield

/ Methode = look up

/ table : Object Imported

/ field :name

/ table filter :Version No.=FIELD(Version No.),Type=FIELD(Type),ID=FIELD(SubType ID)
