Deleting Contacts

Thank you in advance for your help. We are running Dynamics 365 BC v 14 (RTC). Several years ago, our management group opted for an external CRM integration and now wants to delete most Person type Contacts from the database. The Contact records do not sync with the other CRM and so the data in NAV is now mostly invalid.

Many of the Contacts have Interaction Log Entries. They are mostly Sales Quote interactions but that was not intentional; we just forgot to remove the Interaction Group Code for Sales Quote logging from the Interaction Template Setup. There are no Campaigns and only 73 open Opportunities since we never truly used those functions.

Is there any reason why we should not delete Contact records with type=Person? I am interested only in database integrity, not in preserving the interaction history. Many thanks.

I’d be concerned with fields in the customer table (Primary contact No.) related to the contacts that were removed. You may need to clean up these related fields in the customer table as well.
