I know that its tough when the customer wants you to do something that you knwo is wrong, but to give them instructions on how to do it themselves is also not the correct solution. Although in the short term it looks like you are hleping them, in the long run it is not the correct solution. Of course its not my client, and I really have no right to tell you what to do, but please think long term, and if you must do this, then at lease make it very clear, AND in writing, to the client that they are making a serious mistake, and that they accept responsibility. I don’t suggest this as a CYA, I suggest it since most clients when forced to accept responsibility, generally start to think that maybe you know what you are doing, and will put trust in you. Do what you have to, but PLEASE try to do what is the correct long term solution for your client.
