D365FO VendTrans Datasource Access issue

I’m running into an issue on VendTrans in D365 Finance & Operations (with an ISV installed).

There is a field PurchId from a table from the isa that:

  • Exists physically on the table

  • Is joined into the VendTrans query (verified in Form information / query)

  • Is visible and addable via Personalization → Insert column for SysAdmin / BA roles

  • Is not visible at all in Insert column for business users (Project Accountant / AP roles)

We are trying this for a specific role we have, accountant role. I had tried to add the specific table and fields to the role itself and give grant access to read, write, and delete and it is still not showing to those with the accountant role.

I have also checked security diagnostics within the vendtrans form itself but nothing related to the isv shows on there.

Where can I check for the specific roles or privileges for this specific datasource? Would appreciate confirmation from anyone who’s run into this before, or vendor guidance if there’s an intended pattern here.

Can you try creating a new privilege and add the field to it. Then map the privilege to the needed roles and check if it is appearing in the UI.
