Customer Groups

Hi,

A client of ours is grouping their customers into groups. These groups are different from price group and are used for reporting purposes.

I recently added the groups using a field called “Chain Name”. The problem of this field is that it isn’t a look-up field (not linked to another table).

Do you have any suggestions to handle this issue differently? We are using version 4.0 SP3.

Customer Posting Group is an option (different names posting to same control accounts) or an Analysis Dimension.

It depends on your reporting requirement - to seperate groups in “standard” reports the Customer Posting Group is a good option.

Or you can activate a Dimension for this Customer Group. They will need it in reporting anyway.
