What would be difference between Costing accounting Vs Material Costing ?
Throw some light about this .

Material costing is not technically an accounting concept, materials are a cost element of cost accounting, there are other accounting principles as well, it is a bit like asking cars vs engines.

In AX , we have the Materila costing and costing accounting module also. I would like to know the use of the costing module ?

Cost accounting is more about providing information to the management to make decisions, it is more about teh presentation and analysis of the costs. I believe the AX module was written explicitly for a requirement in the Swiss market, bought by MS and is universally not used by many.
Cost Accounting I in Microsoft Dynamics AX is an internal cost flow analysis tool that helps you achieve a deeper insight into the costs incurred by your business. With Cost Accounting I you can measure in detail the economic performance and profitability of your business operations and business units.
Cost Center Accounting
• Flexible mapping of cost accounts into cost categories
• Dimensions setup for cost accounting
• Service categories for quantities management (integrated with Production and Project)
• Flexible reporting system featuring multiple line definitions and structural hierarchies
• Integrated cost accounting journals for booking internal cost accounting transactions on cost amounts or quantities
• Flexible and versatile allocation and distribution capability, including multiple parallel calculation versions
• Specific budgeting and forecasting capability, linked to ledger budget
There are then Cost Account II, III and IV which give you additional layered functionality.
