We currently use Navision US 2.60. An example inventory Item has Qty on Hand of 61, but if you total the Qty Remaining column it’s only 12. I seem to have 49 pcs. of product that cannont be moved. I am unable to transfer or sell the remaining 49. I was wondering if maybe the database is corrupt or if there is a fix for this problem.
Hello, Just to clarify, when you say “Qty on Hand”, do you mean the inventory value on the Item Card? I do not think the database itself is corrupt, but the data does not make sense from the way you describe it and sounds confused [?]. I do not know of any issue like this with the standard 2.60 software. I would check the following first: Reservations - See if the other stock is being held back for some reason. Check the Location Code/Variant Code/Bin Code/Lot No. fields on the Item Ledger Entries. If these do not match with the transaction you are trying to post, then Navision will not look at the entries. If you have “Pens” with a Variant Code of “Red” and a Sales Order with just “Pens” on it, then the order will not post. I would also check the quantities against the Base Unit Quantities and the Base Unit of Measures to check that these all make sense. They should do so in standard Navision, but if you have had some bad programing done for you then these could have been confused. After that I would recomend that you will have to start reconciling the Item Ledger, to make certain that it makes sense. If you have a big Item Ledger, this may take some time to do, but would be the next logical step. Hope this is of some help!

Check for flowfilters on the Item card. Assuming that’s not it, its off to reconcilliation Once you get to the Item Ledger reconcilliation, Check the sum of the Quantity for this item…That is what drives the Flowfield. In theory, it should be the same as adding the Remaining Quantity column. If it is not, more than likely, you have created some issues via a custom object.
Do you have multiple inventory locations ? A problem we see regularly in 2.60 is disappearing Location Item records. When this happens you cannot sell or purchase for that location. When you look at the Item card it shows the correct quantity on hand. The fix is to go to the Item card, Location Item, and add back the missing location. Since the quantity for the location is a flowfilter presto Navision knows what the quantity is for the location. Just a thought
