I am investigating for my client converting their V3.10A C/SIDE database to SQL. They have 100+ users in 17 locations. The database is 8Gb. I’m interested in a ballpark figure on the amount of time (both actual and elapsed) I should allow for the conversion. What SQL database size will an 8Gb C/SIDE database convert to? How long will it take? Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of that are not documented? I’ve read that SQL performance can be an issue. What should be done to ensure that the SQL performance is at least equal to C/SIDE? Is there anything that I shouldn’t do?
