Hi Everyone,
Is it possible to connect Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (on-premises) to Power Platform Dataverse and if so what are the recommended approaches or limitations?

Hi,

Yes, you can connect Dynamics 365 F&O (on-premises) with Dataverse, but it requires some workarounds since the cloud version has more native options. Common approaches are:

  • Dual-write/Data Integrator with hybrid setup

  • Custom APIs/OData to push/pull data

  • Azure services (Service Bus, Logic Apps, Data Factory) as middleware

Main limitations: extra setup for networking/security and less seamless real-time sync than cloud.

Still, many are moving to hybrid/cloud because it makes Dataverse + Power Platform (Power Apps, Automate, AI insights) much easier and future-ready.
