I am closing some years in a copy of NAV 2015 GB edition.
In GB 2013R2 and earlier the procedure for closing a year was:
Search for “Accounting Periods” page.
On the Accounting Periods page, click “Close Year” on the Process group of the ribbon.
In 2015 if you search for Accounting Periods nothing appears. If you find the page in the object designer and run it, it will appear, but the “Close Year” button along with the “Create Fiscal Year” and “Copy System Dates…” are not visible.
If you try to customise the Ribbon to bring them on you find that they are no longer there as options.
I’m afraid that my Help isn’t working at the moment (Working on that) and I have searched here and MSDN but have not found anything.
Has the procedure changed or has someone missed adding on the buttons?
interesting topic But by accident (and as I got annoyed why the hell it is twice there, of all things) I found it in the chart of accounts page. But the General Journal is missing. And the Recurring General Journal is there, also twice. Doesn’t seem that the designers know how NAV is used, because this doesn’t make any sense.
Thanks for the reply. I have looked at the Chart of Accounts and can see the “Close Income Statament” batch job on the ribbon, but I cannot see the “Create Fiscal Year” or “Close Year” options that have to be run first. In the GB edition there is a “Closed” flag in the Accounting Periods table that has to be set before running the Close Income Statement.
The Closed field is still in the Accounting Period GB table but I cannot find the “Close Year” facility.
