Cannot unregister sales return line that has been registered by wrong: This lot is marked against another inventory transaction and cannot be unregistered. Remove the selection before canceling the lot.

Dear all,

in Dynamics 365 finance and operations → Sales and marketing, we had registered an item by wrong in sales return order and this item enabled for quarantine management (item model group), when trying to click on registration in order to reveres it its gave this error: This lot is marked against another inventory transaction and cannot be unregistered. Remove the selection before canceling the lot.

we ended the quarantine order and the qty move from quarantine warehouse to the original warehouse of the sales order and then we try to click the “Registration” but still the issue occurs

can you guide us how to fix this issue…

What’s the status of the inventory transaction at this point? Registered?

Yes Registered, and i figure out that we can remove the marked lot in of the sales return order that linked to the quarantine order and then we can unregistered.

To UnRegister:

  1. the generated quarantine order should be ended by quality to returns the qty to the destination warehouse of the sales order/sales return.
  2. Remove the “Marked” lots from the quarantine order, for example this order: SO-042474.
  3. Select line that need to be unregister, click in Inventory à “Transactions”.
  4. Click on Inventory à “Marking”.
  5. Marking form will opens with the Marked Transactions, so we have to revers it.
  6. Click on “Set mark now” to reverse the marked transaction.
  7. Click on “Apply”
  8. After the applied the marked transactions, the marked transaction will be reversed.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Go back to the order and click on Update line à “Registration”
  11. The Registration form open to reverse the registered quantity.
  12. Click on “Add registration line”.
  13. Then click on “Confirm registration” and then click on “Save”.

I had the same issue, wrong adding to a line that have been invoiced on another RMA, the particular line status was ‘Expected’, and we weren’t able to remove or register the line.

So we added new disposition code with action “Credit only”.

After that we went back to the particular RMA, edit it using excel add-on, update the particular line with the new disposition code.

publish the updates.

Then we notice that the particular line converted from ‘Expected’ status into ‘Received’ statue. After that we removed the particular line. And the RMA status converted into Closed
