I am trying to install the RTC on a second HDD F: but I cannot seem to find a way to change the directory? In the help file it says:
To install Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 software to a location other than the default location (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60), click Destination folder on the Customize the installation pane.
But I cannot click on the words Destination folder? Am I missing something? Please help.
Please see screen shot (this is my system and RTC is installed, but I am trying to install on a Client’s computer …their C: drive is FULL and I need to change to F:) I have left and right clicked everywhere but cannot see any options.
What I can see you are trying to-do 1 of 2 things.
Installing 2 copies of RTC.
This is not a supported scenario. The only way to-do is by copy paste. You simple copy you current RTC dirctory to a new location and run it from there. If you would like to install NAV 2009 and NAV 2009SP1 RTC it’s possible by first install NAV 2009 SP1 and then for NAV 2009 use the seperate RTC msi from the DVD.
Moving your RTC installation, since C is full. The supported senario here is to uninstall NAV and after that reinstall it to the new location. The un installation will leave the sql database on current location, so you need to manuall delete the SQL database if you would like to move it also. A unsuppotred scenario for moving the RTC is to use the separate RTC msi from the DVD. First un install with help of the RTC msi and install RTC to a other location with the RTC msi. This will put your system in a un supported state where you have overrided the functionality from the main setup.
