I don’t want to go back and forth with the CEO of the company to see if “it works” multiple times. I’m having trouble finding the right terms to do a google search and the help in MR isn’t finding anything with “alias” in it so thought I’d ask here.
I am set as an administrator in MR and I assume we are on a very old version of MR (2.12.16003.25). We have a new team with a different mindset from the past so I know we need to upgrade. In the meantime, I just want to make sure those that need reports can actually get to them until we do the upgrade. Thank you!!!

Seeing that you never got an answer to your post…
Simple said: your MR 2.12.16003.25 isn’t that old… it’s indeed one of the latest CU (cumulative updates) that MS released for MR… the latest being CU16013.
To get back to your question about Security: As an ‘Administrator’ user in MR, you can manage security, users, groups. Add/Remove users from the Domain. MR 2012 works only with Windows Authentication to logon users to the Designer / Viewer.
The connection to the GP company DB depends whether you have installed the Legacy or the DataMart connector in MR. Legacy uses the GP login credentials. DM uses the Windows Authentication method.
Security in MR can be assigned to the Library where the reports are generated on a per user or per group basis.
