I have one question about the Item master in AX2012.
There are two types of items in AX2012 1.Product & 2.Prodyct Master.
A released “Product” has the filed “Items Number”
Can some body tell me whether a “Product” can have more than one “Item number”?
I dont want to use the “Product Master “(& product variants)
Yes I believe if you were to release the product into the companies you could rename it in the companies so it is company specific from the same product. Try releasing one product to multuple compnaies and then in one company renaming the item record.

The product or item number field in Products table (EcoResProduct) is unique meaning AX will not allow duplicates.

I tried the way you suggested but could not find how to rename the item in respective companies.I want diffrenet item numbers for same product…can you help me ?
Right mouse click, record info, rename, I believe this is then company specific if undertaken on the item number. Try and see.
