We are running Nav 4.00 W1 on SQL server 2000. Our items are setup with single line production boms (a raw material item) and multiple operations within each routing. Our items consists of 4 sku’s each; replenishment system = prod. order; manufacturing policy = make-to-stock; reordering policy = fixed reorder qty; order tracking policy = none; and no other ordering parameters. Our machine centers are set up with a send-ahead of 1 and concurrent capacity of 1. The first operation and the bom line use a routing link code to backflush the raw material. All machine centers are set as capacity contraint resources. Location is set to mandatory and the forecast is loaded per location, one entry per month. There are no other demand, i.e. sales orders in the system. When running the regen plan, I filter for the one item only. I run the plan for the full year and it only returns a result after more than 2 minutes. This is a problem seing that the user has over 5000 items (which is not really that much) and would mean that the plan would run over a few days. This is a development database, which means there are no other active users and it is still very small. Any thoughts or suggestions on speeding up the process would be greatly appreciated.
