We have a scenario here that i need some input: We should be able to define the minimum shelf life required by a customer for a specific product. Some customers have a minimum shelf life that is different from the standard. This can mean that a batch of product with a best before date does not meet the requirements of customer A but meets those of customer B. How can we handle that ?

Sounds like you are looking for ‘Customer sellable days’.
On Customer record, go to Sell tab and in Set up group select Setup > Sellable days
