BC License downgrade from Premium to Essential

Hi Everyone,
one of our customers running BC cloud SaaS, wants to change their BC license.
They currently have premium users and wish to downgrade to essentials users.
There are a few production orders, routings and BOMs in the system, but users started to use assembly orders instead and it would not be a problem to lose the production stuff inserted so far.
In a sandbox, I replaced the “user experience” in Company information page; I cannot access any pages related to production area anymore, but the system seems working fine.

Does anyone have any experience in such a license downgrade who can tell me if there are any issues or aspects to consider during the change?
As mentioned above, not having access to old production orders would not be a problem in this case and I would not develop a process to delete all records from the production tables.
Any advice is welcome!

I can’t be 100% sure but I think we’ve done this and it is fine. You just lose access to the tables. Not sure if there are ever any errors due to weird data being there.

@Jenn_Claridge do you recall if we have ever seen someone do this and if it caused problems?

Are they still in Sandbox or live in Production?

I am pretty sure they had a production environment that was being used for testing but were not live yet.

Our situation was slightly different. The company had essential licenses and needed premium but didn’t want to pay to increase all the licenses for all users day 1.

You cannot have 1 instance where some users are premium and some are essential so we needed to create a second instance.

If you want to decrease all the premium licenses to essential and don’t need the premium features changing the experience to essential should be fine.
